Through NSNP, prospective immigrants who have the skills and experience targeted by Nova Scotia may be nominated to immigrate, which speeds up the overall immigration process. The NSNP works on demand list and available quota based system and each year Nova Scotia Immigration releases the allotted quota and demand list for the occupations which can apply. The possible immigration streams in that program are:

International Graduate: To qualify for this stream, you need to fulfill the following criteria:

• Want to live permanently in Nova Scotia
• Have at least 1 year of continuous experience owning and running a Nova Scotia business (100% ownership)
• Completed at least a 2-year academic diploma in Nova Scotia (full-time)
• Have a valid post-graduation work permit
• Able to demonstrate a language proficiency of CLB7 or higher
• Complete an online Expression of Interest & Receive an ITA

Skilled Worker: To qualify for this stream, you need to fulfill the following criteria:

• Have a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer
• Have 1 year of work experience related to the job (semi-skilled and low-skilled must have 6 months experience with the employer already)
• Be 21 to 55 years old
• Have a high school diploma or higher
• Have the appropriate training, skills and/or accreditation for the job
• Achieve a language proficiency of CLB5 for skilled workers and CLB4 for semi and low-skilled
• Show enough financial resources to settle in Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia Demand/Express Entry: This is a stream that selects highly skilled individuals who must have an Express Entry profile to begin with, then be in either one of two categories:

• Category A: Applicants with a job offer
• Category B: Applicants with experience in an opportunity occupation

Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry: This stream selects highly skilled individuals who wish to live in Nova Scotia and have at least one year of experience working in Nova Scotia in a high skilled occupation.
